De Keersmaeker /
Papadopoulos

05 – 06 Feb 2026

In response to Arnold Schoenberg, who said that his music ‘was limited to painting nature and the play of human emotions’, choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker transposes Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), a darkly romantic work relating the heart-rending confession of a woman to her lover, confessing that she is carrying another man's child.

Presented as a ‘duet for three’, the piece plunges the audience into a dramatic and emotional intensity that dialogues with Christos Papadopoulos' choreography around the countless forms and movements of natural mechanisms. Through physical interactions, his Mycelium reinvents a dance drawing on the complexity of fungal networks, whose impulses intertwine with tree roots to create a dynamic network between the twenty dancers, supported by Coti K's electro music.
