Those crazy years!
Nancy, 14 October 1919. The foyer is aglow, the chandeliers sparkle, the elegant guests take their seats. The newly inaugurated Opera House opens its doors to a new world. At the same moment, an official decree announces the demobilisation of the last soldiers of the Great War.
A century later, the scene is replayed – and you are the guests. In 2025, as Nancy celebrates Art Deco and the 100th anniversary of the 1925 International Exhibition with the Métro'Folies, the Opéra national de Nancy-Lorraine is reliving the excitement of the Roaring Twenties with a unique gala dinner. Fox-trot, Charleston, blues, tango... Rhythms from America electrify Europe. Ravel embraces them, Hahn adorns them with feathers and silk. Art is liberated, and so are women. Tonight, the Opera looks back, bursts into flames and is transformed. The celebration will be complete. This era has so much to say...
